SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT: Slippery Rock traveled south for an eight-game road trip at The Spring Games from March 12-18. SRU concluded the week 3-5 with wins over Le Moyne College (1-0), Saint Michael's College (8-7) and Post University (7-6, 8 innings).

SEARCHING FOR THE SWEEP: A sweep against Lock Haven would give Slippery Rock its first doubleheader sweep of an opponent in its home opener since taking two games from Wheeling Jesuit in 2011.

EARLY HONORS: Kelsi Anderson (4-3, 3.78 ERA) has now been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Pitcher of the week twice for her efforts this season. Anderson has pitched a rotation-high 46.1 innings in which she has earned a pair of complete-game shutouts in addition to striking out 46 batters in nine starts.

For her career, Anderson is currently 12th in the SRU career record book for strikeouts (145) and 18th in innings pitched (156.0).

ROUNDING OUT THE ROTATION: Chloe Sharman (1-3, 4.25 ERA) has struck out 18 batters over 29.2 innings of work and five starts. Opponents are hitting .236 off of Sharman this season.

Alexsa Hurd (0-3, 1 save, 3.71 ERA) earned her first career start March 17 in SRU's game against New Haven. Hurd in 22.2 innings pitched has 15 strikeouts while opponents are hitting .250 off of her.

Rounding out The Rock's pitching staff is
Claire Zimmerman (1-1, 2.74 ERA) who in six relief appearances and 7.2 innings has struck out five batters and allowed five runs with just three being earned.

FREEMAN FEELING IT: Mackenzie Freeman continues a strong sophomore campaign. In 14 starts, Freeman has extended her home run total to a team-high five. Additionally, she has drove 21 RBI, which ranks fourth in the PSAC, with six coming in SRU's 8-7 win over Saint Michael's. Freeman bats .298 with a team-leading 31 total bases and .660 slugging percentage.

On the season, Freeman is batting .500 (9-for-18) with runners in scoring position.

Freeman's five home runs are already the most by a Rock softball player since Adeline Nicholson hit six in 2019.

FRESHMAN FIRSTS: Rock catcher
Emma Kennedy belted the first home run of her collegiate career in SRU's contest against Saint Anselm March 18. Kennedy had a solid performance the final day of The Rock's spring trip also tallying three RBI and two runs scored. All six of The Rock's wins this season have come with Kennedy behind the plate.

THE ROCK OFFENSE: Erin Gardner and
Arielle Brown are SRU's only two players to have started all 16 contest this year. Gardner leads SRU with a .308 batting average and has hit three doubles this season in addition to driving in three runs and scoring 10. Brown bats .300 with 13 runs scored, one RBI and one double.

Rounding out SRU's offensive leaders are
Cami Fisk who has produced a team-high four doubles in seven hits this season and
Julia Montie who ranks second on the team in both home runs (2) and RBI (6).

Fisk, Gardner,
Julianna Hutchinson and Noami Childs enter the Lock Haven doubleheader tied for fourth on the team with three RBI apiece.

PREVIOUSLY AGAINST LOCK HAVEN: Sharman saw time against the Bald Eagles during the 2019 season in a 7-5 SRU loss March 26. In 4.2 innings of work Sharman allowed five runs, only two of which were earned, on seven hits in addition to having five strikeouts and no walks.

SCOUTING THE BALD EAGLES
Last Time Out: Lock Haven swept Holy Family University March 20, with a 9-1 win in game one and 9-8 victory to conclude the day on the road in Philadelphia.

The duo of Delaney Good and Summer Peters lead LHU's offense. Good has hit .478 (22-for-46) with 10 runs scored and six RBI while Peters bats .405 (17-for-42) with one home run, 12 runs scored and 12 RBI.

Madison Waltman has made seven starts to head the Bald Eagle's rotation. She is 6-1 with a 3.17 ERA, 34 strikeouts and a .272 opponent batting average over 42.0 innings pitched.

The Bald Eagles are batting .310 as a team while scoring 6.5 runs per contest. The Lock Haven pitching staff surrendered 3.9 runs per game with a 3.28 team ERA.Â
