INDIANA, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's track and field team recorded one NCAA provisional qualifying mark, four event wins and 14 top five finishes at the Ed Fry Invitational Sunday at Indiana University (Pa.)

The one NCAA provisional mark on the day came from
Trinity Clark, who won the javelin with a throw of 44.04 meters, which is just shy of her season-best of 44.69 meters that currently ranks 15th in the nation.
Skylar Sherry placed third at 38.75 meters and
Sarah Corrie was seventh at 33.44 meters to give SRU three athletes in the top 10 of the event.

The Rock picked up a win and placed five athletes in the top 10 in the pole vault.
Kendall Grossman led the way with a clearance of 3.50 meters to pick up the victory.
Heidi Bednarz (3.20m) was second, followed by
Olivia Sentle (3.05m) in fifth,
Kyleigh Murphy (2.90m) in seventh and
Elise Rota (2.60m) in ninth.

Cecily Greggs rounded out the individual event wins with a victory in the high jump after clearing 1.60 meters.

The final victory on the day came in the 4x100-meter relay, where
Samantha Gilbert,
Lorna Speigle,
Thai-Lin Pierce and
Reagan Hess teamed up to post a time of 48.21 seconds. The Rock also took second in the 4x400-meter relay, with Speigle teaming with
Courtney Nunley,
Allyson Stitzer and
Morgan Donatelli to post a time of 4:00.48.

Donatelli also placed second in the 400-meter dash in 58.66 seconds and ninth in the 200-meter dash in 26.07 seconds. Nunley was fifth in the 400m at 1:00.00 and Speigle was 10th at 1:01.45. Gilbert finished sixth in the 100-meter dash in 12.71 seconds and Stitzer was seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.70.

Alison Lamoreaux took seventh in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.29 seconds, with
Kendra Benton placing ninth in 16.42 seconds and
Megan Miller finishing 10th in 16.47 seconds.

In addition to the javelin performances, Slippery Rock recorded six top 10 showings in the other three throwing events.
Jena Reinheimer led the way with a second place finish in the hammer with a throw of 48.82 meters and a fifth place showing in the discus with a mark of 40.62 meters.
Rachel Hutchinson was fifth in the hammer at 44.87 meters and
Natasha Davis was ninth in the discus at 34.95 meters.
Sarah Corrie led the way in the shot put with a mark of 12.51 meters to place fifth.
Kamryn Snyder was eighth at 11.99 meters.

The final top 10 effort of the day came from
Ashanti Richardson, who placed sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.83 meters.

Slippery Rock will return to action Thursday and Friday at home when SRU hosts the Mike Kowal Multi Meet and the Bill Lennox Invite. The multi competition will kick off Thursday with the first five events of the men's decathlon and the first four events of the women's heptathlon. The remainder of the multi events and the full schedule of other events will take place Friday.
