Lock Haven Results
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's track and field team recorded two NCAA provisional qualifying marks, three event wins and 29 top five finishes at a pair of meets Saturday to kick off the 2021 outdoor season.

The majority of The Rock's team competed at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, while a select group of distance runners traveled to Lock Haven University.

Slippery Rock was led on the day by two javelin throwers that swept the top two places at CMU with a pair of NCAA provisional marks. University of Akron transfer
Trinity Clark won her SRU debut with a throw of 43.81 meters, which was the 14th best mark in Division II this season as of Saturday morning. Teammate
Skylar Sherry took runner-up honors with a mark of 42.70 meters, which ranked 17th in the nation as of Saturday morning.

All three of The Rock's event wins Saturday came in field events at CMU with
Reagan Hess picking up a win in the long jump and
Cecily Greggs taking top honors in the high jump.
Â
Hess recorded a leap of 5.36 meters to win the long jump and lead three SRU jumpers to top five finishes.
Ashanti Richardson was third at 5.25 meters and
Samantha Gilbert was fifth at 5.17 meters. Richardson also placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 11.21 meters, while
Katie Bonczyk was fourth at 10.65 meters.

Greggs cleared 1.65 meters to win the high jump, while Bonczyk gave The Rock a sweep of the top two spots with a clearance of 1.60 meters.
SRU closed out the jumps with three athletes placing in the top five of the pole vault, led by Heidi Bodnarz and
Kendall Grossman in a tie for second at 3.20 meters.
Sarah Schneider was fourth with a mark of 3.05 meters.

Jena Reinheimer joined Clark and Sherry in leading the throwers to a total of seven top five finishes at CMU after she placed third in the hammer (44.75m), shot put (12.38m) and discus (42.45m).
Sarah Corrie took fifth in the shot put at 12.14 meters and Clark took fifth in the discus at 38.44 meters.

The Rock's sprinters placed four runners in the top five of the 200-meter dash, three in the top five of the 100-meter dash and two in the top five of the 400-meter dash.

Hess led the way in the 100m with a second place finish in 12.31 seconds. Gilbert was third in 12.69 seconds, followed by
Thai-Lin Pierce in fourth in 12.74 seconds.

Gilbert was the top SRU finisher in the 200m with a second place finish in 26.44. The Rock took places 2-5 with
Courtney Nunley finishing third (26.62),
Lorna Speigle placing fourth (26.75) and
Morgan Donatelli finishing fifth (27.04).

Donatelli was the runner-up in the 400m in 59.44 seconds, while Nunley placed fourth in 1:00.59.

Gilbert, Speigle, Hess and
Amanda Oliver finished second in the 4x100-meter relay in 49.26 seconds, while Donatelli, Speigle, Nunley and
Emma Fox were third in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:03.59.

The lone top five showing from the small group of SRU women that traveled to Lock Haven Saturday came from
Julianna Stevens, who finished fifth in the 5,000-meter run in 19:32.36.

The return to competition Saturday marked the first time Slippery Rock has competed in the sport of outdoor track and field since May of 2019 after the entire 2020 season was canceled.
Â
The Rock will be back in action next Saturday when they host the first of three home meets this spring, the Dave Labor Invitational.
