SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's basketball team topped the 100-point mark for the first time since November of 2018 to run away with a 101-52 victory over Penn State University Fayette Wednesday night in non-conference action from Morrow Field House.

The Rock improve to 2-1 overall with the win, while the Nittany Lions drop to 3-2 overall.

Slippery Rock's 101 points marked the first time The Rock had topped the century mark since scoring 115 points against Ohio University Eastern on Nov. 27, 2018.

Penn State Fayette entered the night averaging 102.8 points per game against junior college competition, but struggled to solve the SRU press and turned the ball over 18 times, which The Rock turned into 28 points on the other end.

Slippery Rock played 13 different players in the game and got points from 12 different players in a dominant offensive showing. The Rock shot 44.9 percent from the field (40-of-89), 27.0 percent from 3-point (10-of-37) and 57.9 percent from the free throw line (11-of-19). SRU grabbed 70 rebounds to just 37 for PSU Fayette for a +33 rebounding margin. The 70 total rebounds are tied for the sixth most in a single-game in SRU program history.

Frankie Hughes led the way with 20 points in just 18 minutes on the court.
Zaire Rogers added 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds.
Jonathan McFall scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds and
Amante Britt scored 11 points, handed out four assists and had four steals to round out the players in double figures.

Bobby Clifford chipped in nine points, eight rebounds and six assists,
Nik Cazacu scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds,
Dylan Ahearn scored eight points and
Lashon Lindsey scored four points and pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.

Eric Taylor each scored three points and
Earl Baker Jr. and
Colin McQuiston each scored two points to cap the scorers.

Penn State Fayette shot 25.4 percent from the field (17-of-67), 18.2 percent from 3-point (6-of-33) and 70.6 percent from the free throw line (12-of-17). Dasilas Jones led the Nittany Lions with 20 points and eight rebounds. Dominic Boring added 13 points.

Wednesday night's game marked the third in a string of four straight home games Slippery Rock will play to open the 2021-22 season. The Rock will close that homestand Saturday at 3 p.m. by opening Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action with a crossover game against East Stroudsburg.
