EDINBORO Pa. - The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team earned its third-straight win in a 5-0 victory on the road at Edinboro University.

The win improves The Rock's overall record to 12-3-2 and 11-3-1 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division. Edinboro falls to 8-7-0 overall and 7-7-0 in the division.

Four different players accounted for The Rock's five goals.
Rachel Edge led the charge scoring two goals herself while
Katy Ericson,
Ashley Rea and
Kayla Swope all tallied a score apiece. Edge and
Sydney Patrick each finished with an assist as well.

The 5-0 shutout victory marks the seventh on the year for Slippery Rock as well as the 18th of goalkeeper
Emma Yoder's career. Yoder ended the match making five saves.

Slippery Rock started its offensive efforts with less than five minutes left in the first half when Patrick sent a pinpoint pass to Edge who landed a shot past Edinboro goalkeeper Anna Voelker giving SRU a 1-0 lead at the half.

Just out of the break at 46:26, Ericson found the back of the net for her second goal of the season before Rea continue SRU's scoring when she put away a ball dished out by Edge in the 73rd minute for her fourth goal of the year.

At 76:48, Slippery Rock would be awarded a penalty kick that Edge sent out of reach of Voelker, extending The Rock's lead with less than 10 minutes left of play, Swope added on the insurance goal, her seventh of the season, securing the 5-0 Rock victory.

Through 90 minutes, Slippery Rock held the advantages over Edinboro in total shots (13-7), shots on goal (8-5) and corner kicks (4-0).

Cameron Bujnoski and Brittnie Spithaler posted two shots on goal each for Edinboro in the loss.

Following Edge's five-point game, the senior striker now ranks fourth in program history in points (80), fifth in assists and sixth in goals.

Slippery Rock will end its regular season on the road against PSAC West rival Gannon University 1 p.m. Nov. 6.
