SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT: Slippery Rock fell at home, 2-1, to PSAC West rival Seton Hill University. Mo Kanani scored what would be The Rock's lone goal of the game.
 
PSAC STANDINGS CHECK: Slippery Rock currently ranks third in the PSAC West standings with six points, one point ahead of fourth-place Mercyhurst, through 12 matches.
 
With five games remaining in the season, a win against Mercyhurst is vital to maintain its position and not let The Lakers overtake the number three spot in the standings. The top three teams in the PSAC East and PSAC West standings at the end of the regular season qualify for the conference tournament.
 
ON THE ROAD: Through five road matches, The Rock has outscored their opponents 12-7. Of SRU's three road wins, two have been shutout victories while its 6-2 victory over UPJ marked its third highest single-game output dating back to 2016.
 
MO AND MINAYA: The duo of Kanani and Ramses Minaya ended the week with seven points collectively through two games. Minaya put up a five-point game, on two goals and one assist, against Pitt-Johnstown, while Kanani netted SRU's lone goal vs Seton Hill. For the season, the pair share the team-lead in points with 10 apiece.
 
ON THE OFFENSE: The Slippery Rock offense features a wide spread of players. Kanani and Minaya lead the team in points followed by Alejandro Fernandez with nine via three goals and three assists while Arturo Pla Hernandis has collected eight points on three goals and two assists.
 
The scoring efforts are rounded out by Alex Plimmer with two goals and Harry Griffin, Luke Gildea, Joey Moeller and Dan Schearer all with one goal each.
 
AIDING IN THE ATTACK: Rock players who have assisted on at least one goal include PSAC West leader Anthony Gagliardi II with six followed by Fernandez and Brian McCarthy with three each and rounded out by Pla Hernandis and Minaya with two apiece and Joe Skillicorn with one.
 
KEEPER COUNT: Goalkeepers Hossam Aly (4-4-2) and Derek Hoffman (1-1) continue to split time as of late. Through 11 starts (960:44), Aly has collected 38 saves with a .745 save percentage and 1.22 goals against average. Aly currently ranks third in the PSAC West saves, save percentage and GAA.
 
In three appearances this season (158:35), Hoffman has tallied six saves with a .600 save percentage and 2.27 GAA.

The Laker offense is led by the trio of Nevado Elliot (7 goals, 2 assists), who ranks second in the PSAC West in goals and points, Sidney Warden (6 goals, 1 assist), who lands third in the division in goals, and Dylan Summer (5 goals, 3 assists).
 
Goalkeeper Jonathan Gomes leads the Mercyhurst defense having made 23 saves with a .605 save percentage and 1.37 GAA.
