SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University volleyball team lost in three sets to Edinboro University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division competition Friday night at Morrow Field House.

Edinboro (13-3, 6-1 PSAC West) earned the conference victory over The Rock (4-16, 1-6 PSAC West) with set wins of 25-8. 25-17 and 25-18.

Erica Selfridge totaled a team-high seven kills to lead SRU with
Chelsie Wheeler contributing four kills while the trio of
Tiara Teague,
Abigail Koeller and
Sydney Ryan all chipped in three kills apiece. Teague also posted a pair of blocks.

While guiding The Rock's offense with 12 assists,
Taylor Fellers also served one ace as did
Peytan Gullickson and
Kate Lachendro. In addition to her team-best 23rd ace of the season, Lachendro also compiled a match-best 13 digs.

To their credit, The Rock came back strong following their opening-set loss by playing the Fighting Scots competitively over the second and third sets. However, Edinboro used a 6-2 run to end the second set, 25-17, followed by closing out the third with four consecutive points for the match-deciding 25-18 victory.

As a team, Edinboro held advantages over The Rock in kills (42-23), attack percentage (.330-.010), aces (4-3) and total blocks (3-2). Bella Burrelli paced the Fighting Scots' attack with a double-double of 10 kills and 12 digs.

Slippery Rock continues its three-match homestand when it hosts Gannon University 1 p.m. Saturday at Morrow Field House.
