Rock stays 10th in latest national poll

Slippery Rock held steady at No. 10 in this week's Division II national poll that was announced Monday by the American Football Coaches Association.

WACO, Texas – The Slippery Rock University football team held steady at No. 10 in the Division II national rankings released Monday by the American Football Coaches Association.

The AFCA poll is widely regarded as the official national ranking used by the NCAA throughout the football season.

The Rock opened the year ranked 10th in the preseason poll, but slipped one spot to No. 11 after the first week of the season and held there after week two. SRU climbed one spot back into the top 10 last week and held steady this week after posting a 55-14 win on the road at Seton Hill.

Slippery Rock is one of five teams from Super Region One that are listed among the nation's top 25 this week.

Notre Dame (Ohio) held steady at No. 5 and Slippery Rock stayed put at No. 10 as the top 10 in the poll were unchanged. West Chester moved up two places to No. 14 this week, Indiana (Pa.) climbed two places to No. 19 this week and Kutztown broke into the poll for the first time this season at No. 24.
