LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University volleyball team earned a 3-0 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference victory at Lock Haven University Friday night.

Slippery Rock trailed early in the opening set before rallying back for a 25-23 victory. SRU followed its win in the opener with a 25-21 victory in the second set before closing out the sweep by way of a 25-17 triumph in the third set.

The victory improves The Rock's record to 7-7 overall and 2-1 in PSAC competition. Lock Haven drops to 6-8 overall and 0-4 in league matches after the loss.

The trio of
Kaley Fucci,
Abigail Koeller and
Gabby Huck paced The Rock's attack against the Bald Eagles.

Fucci produced a match-best 11 kills on a .310 attack percentage in addition to contributing three blocks and nine digs. The double-digit kill outing was the fifth such for Fucci in 2019.

Koeller and Huck recorded nine kills and eight kills, respectively, with Koeller also making a Rock-high 21 digs to go with two aces and Huck totaling 10 digs, three blocks and one ace.

Zoe Rivet passed out 29 assists while serving a match-best four aces. Rivet's big night moved her into fifth place in SRU history for assists in a career (2,395) and 13th for career aces (127). She has now served four aces in two of SRU's last three matches.

Abigail Nigon chipped in three blocks while
Tiara Teague had one kill and a pair of blocks to round out The Rock's top contributors.

For the match, Slippery Rock held advantages over Lock Haven in kills (32-29), attack percentage (.137 - -.025) and blocks (6.0 – 1.0). Both teams served seven aces.

Slippery Rock will look to end its weekend on a high note with a victory 11 a.m. Saturday at Bloomsburg University.
