GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University volleyball team lost at Seton Hill University in three sets (25-18, 25-11, 25-18) Friday night at the McKenna Center in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

With the loss, Slippery Rock's record drops to 4-9 overall and 1-4 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The Griffins improve to 9-6 overall and 3-2 in league matches with the win.

Slippery Rock recorded a season-low .000 attack percentage (18-18-95) on the night, but did register eight blocks, its fourth highest total of the season. For the match, Seton Hill held advantages over The Rock in kills (45-18), attack percentage (.305 - .000), aces (5-2) and digs (54-39).

Senior Beth Stumpf paced Slippery Rock's attack Friday with a team-best eight kills to go with 10 digs.

The Rock's middle hitter duo of senior Shayla Ray and sophomore Erinn Kahoe each recorded four blocks with Kahoe also producing four kills. Junior Kaley Fucci (three kills), freshman Gabby Huck (two kills) and sophomore Stephanie Jacobsen rounded out SRU's offensive effort.

Junior Zoe Rivet handed out 15 assists in addition to 11 digs and one ace for her third double-double effort of the year. Sophomore Jalyn Willard served The Rock's other ace on the evening.

Leah Bisignani led Seton Hill with a match-best 11 kills and two aces.

Slippery Rock will look to bounce back from Friday's loss with a victory 1 p.m. Saturday at California University (Pa.).

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1 – Slippery Rock and Seton Hill played to a 7-7 tie in the early stages of the opening set, but the Griffins earned some separation with a 14-7 run to open up a 21-14 advantage. SRU responded by taking three straight points, but SHU was able to stifle The Rock's upset bid by ending the opening set on a 4-0 spurt for a 25-18 victory.

Set 2 – Seton Hill scored 13 of the second set's first 16 points to open up a commanding 13-3 lead that it would never relinquish on the way to a 25-11 victory.

Set 3 – Slippery Rock couldn't avoid the straight-set sweep as the Griffins started the third set on a 12-5 run and was never seriously threatened as SRU was unable to cut Seton Hill's lead to fewer than six points during the remainder of the third set in a 25-18 match-deciding defeat.
