GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference road match Wednesday at Seton Hill University, 2-1.
Jordyn Minda scored SRU's lone goal on an assist from
Reagan Reeves.

Following a goal from Seton Hill just one minute and forty-six seconds in, Minda got free in the ninth minute and received a thru ball behind the defense from Reeves that she finished into the back of the net to tie the game, 1-1.

Slippery Rock nearly took the lead in the closing minutes of the first period when
Julianna Esposito fired a header on target, but Seton Hill goalkeeper, Jessica Neill made the save.

After the break, the Griffins took the advantage at 56:21 when Italia Biondi was fed a thru ball from Melanie Renda that she deposited past Rock goalkeeper,
Kylie Downs for the score.

SRU's only recorded shot in the second period occurred prior to the Seton Hill second goal. The Rock did, however, tally a corner in the 87th minute, but were unable to capitalize and SHU held on for the victory, 2-1.

Slippery Rock falls to 6-2-2 overall and 4-2-2 in league games while the Griffins improve to 7-2-0 and 6-2-0 in PSAC play.Â

GOAL: SHU 1, ROCK 0; 1:46: Sawyer Patrick scored off an assist by Ally Kaputa.
GOAL: ROCK 1, SHU 1; 8:02: Minda shot the thru ball from Reeves into the net.
GOAL: SHU 2, ROCK 1; 56:21: Biondi shot a thru ball from Renda past the keeper.
GAME NOTES
- After winning four consecutive contests from Sept. 8 through Sept. 18, SRU has tied two straight games and took a loss. Its last win was a 1-0 victory against Edinboro on Sept. 18.
- A bright offensive spot for Slippery Rock has been play from its freshman forward, Minda. She leads the team in total points with 10 on five goals.
- Slippery Rock managed just four shots on goal in the contest against SHU. SRU has averaged just 5.8 shots on goal per game through its first 10 games. The Rock have not fired more than five shots on goal since Sept. 8 in its 6-0 victory over Mansfield when it sent 12 shots on frame.
- SRU's loss today snaps an eight-game winning streak against Seton Hill dating back to 2008.
