BLOOMSBURG. Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team fell to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opponent Bloomsburg University, 3-1, Saturday afternoon on the road.
Skye Kramer tallied SRU's lone goal off an assist from
Brooke Testa.
Bloomsburg scored two goals in the first half and Slippery Rock tallied one in the second period, but BU posted one more score and The Rock were unable to mount a comeback.
Christina Podpora tallied her first goal of the season to give the Huskies the lead, 1-0, in the 10th minute.
Bloomsburg would score again in the first period when Nicole Varano received a cross field feed from Allie Barber and she headed it into the net to give BU an advantage, 2-0.
After not recording a shot in the first half, Kramer received a pass from Testa in the 65th minute and she deposited it into the net to cut the deficit to one.
SRU nearly tied the game at 67:33 when Kramer got free and fired a shot, but it was blocked.
Eventually, the Huskies put the game away at 86:56 when MacKenzie Gebhardt scored off an assist by Barber. BU then held on for the win, 3-1.

GAME NOTES
- Slippery Rock did not record a shot in the first period for the first time all season.
- Kramer registered her third goal of the season and Testa posted her fifth assist of 2018. The pair are now tied for second on the team in total points with nine.
- Three goals are the most The Rock have surrendered in a contest this season.
- Saturday's loss snaps a two-game win streak against Bloomsburg in the all-time series.
