NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team lost a narrow 1-0 match at Walsh University Thursday evening at Milazzo Soccer Field.

The deciding play of the game occurred during the 87th minute when Walsh's Nathan Kett netted his first goal of the season giving the Cavaliers the late 1-0 lead.

Tyler McCarthy,
Kyle Boyer and
Luke Picchi each registered a shot on goal.

The Rock had a few chances early when Hoffman sent one right into the Walsh goalkeeper's hands in the 12th minute. McCarthy sent one towards the goal in the 26th minute that was also saved by the keeper

After the 0-0 first half, SRU sent two more shots on goal in the second half, but unfortunately none found their mark.

At 87:50 the Cavaliers were finally able to sneak one past Slippery Rock goalkeeper
Jonathan Sharp en route to the victory.

Sharp looked solid in goal recording six saves on seven shots in 90 minutes played.

Slippery Rock held the advantage in corner kicks, 8-1.

Up next, SRU will play at Lake Erie College 1 p.m. Sunday in another non-conference matchup.
