MONTREAL – Former Slippery Rock University football standout Cory Tucker has signed a two-year contract with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Â
Tucker, an offensive tackle who finished his SRU career in 2015, spent time in preseason camps before the 2016 NFL season with both the Green Bay Packers and the Cleveland Browns.
Â
"We're really proud of Cory," said SRU head coach
Shawn Lutz. "Not only did he finish his academic work after coming back from those NFL camps, but he kept working hard all year to achieve his professional football goals. We're really looking forward to seeing what he can do in the CFL."
 Â
Tucker completed his academic coursework in the sport management program at Slippery Rock with an internship in the athletic department offices last fall.
