SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University football program is expected to announce one of the largest recruiting classes in program history during the 2026 National Signing Day Wednesday, Feb. 4.
 
Slippery Rock is expected to announce the addition of more than 40 total players Wednesday, which will include dozens of high school commits and 10 mid-year transfers that are already on campus and will suit up for spring practices next month.
 
"This is most likely going to be the largest recruiting class in program history," said head coach Shawn Lutz. "We know how important it is to recruit good high school players and develop talent and we are really pleased with the quality and the quantity of high school players we expect to sign. We're also excited about the mid-year transfers we added. We focused on guys that love to play the game and wanted to be part of our program."
 
Prospective student-athletes are expected to be confirmed beginning around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning. Once the paperwork is verified by the SRU compliance office, each signee will be announced live on the SRU football 'X' account (formerly Twitter) beginning with the 10 transfers.
 
A full announcement of the signing class, including reaction from Lutz, will be posted here Wednesday afternoon once all expected athletes are signed.
