The Rock won their season-opener for the sixth consecutive year, while Roberts Weslyan dropped its first game of the year to fall to 2-1 overall.

Slippery Rock got out of the gates slowly, as the Redhawks scored the first two goals of the game, but The Rock closed the opening half with six goals in the final 10 minutes to lead 6-4 at halftime.

It was all Slippery Rock in the second half as The Rock outscored Roberts Wesleyan 7-3 to earn the 13-7 victory.

Kaytlin Callaghan,
Erin Wilcox,
Paige Costantino and
Jasey Sanders all netted a hat trick with three goals to lead Slippery Rock.
Chynna Chan added one goal and one assist to account for the final points.

Callaghan and Wilcox each recorded three draw controls.
Sarah Morris picked up a team-high five ground balls and Chan added four ground balls.

Jordan Wagner played the full 60 minutes in goal for SRU and earned the win after allowing seven goals and recording seven saves.

Slippery Rock posted advantages of 40-15 in total shots, 30-14 in shots on goal, 23-14 in ground balls and 14-8 in draw controls. The Rock were 18-of-20 in clear attempts, while Roberts Wesleyan was 18-of-24.

The Redhawks got two goals from Cassley Jackowski and Ali Fox and one goal each Johannah Price, Loren Dunn and Mackenzie Dude.

Shannon Knapp took the loss after allowing 13 goals and recording 17 saves.

Slippery Rock returns to action March 11 with another non-conference road game at the University of Mount Olive.
