CLARION, Pa.- The Slippery Rock University volleyball team lost to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-West rival Clarion Friday night, 3-0.
With the loss, Slippery Rock falls to 10-19 overall and 3-13 in the PSAC. Clarion improves to 16-12 on the year and 12-4 in the conference.
The Rock played close with the Golden Eagles in the first set, only falling 25-18, however the hosts went on to win the second and third sets in commanding fashion, 25-7 and 25-11.
Leah Jones and
Beth Stumpf evenly split 12 kills for The Rock.
Haley Defibaugh recorded 13 assists, while
Courtney Oberlander registered 27 digs.
The Golden Eagles held advantages in kills (42-23), digs (60-56), blocks (10-1) and service aces (4-1).
The Rock will take on Indiana (Pa.) Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
