WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Junior utilityman Kevin Jovanovich and junior shortstop Will Kengor had three hits each, including a double and a triple, Monday morning to lead Slippery Rock University to a 7-3 win over Hillsdale (Mich.) College in NCAA Division II baseball action at Chain O'Lakes Park.

The win improved SRU's season record to 11-4. Hillsdale saw its record drop to 7-6.

Jovanovich's hits plated three runs, while Kengor collected two RBIs. Junior right fielder Brandon Myers and senior outfielder Austin Benshadle had one RBI each to complete The Rock's run producers.

Senior second baseman Matt Curtis, senior first baseman John Shaffer and junior outfielder Graeme Zaparzynski each had two hits to join Jovanovich (left photo) and Kengor in the multi-hit category as part of a 16-hit Rock attack.

The offensive output supported strong pitching performances by junior right-hander Mike Dunn and redshirt freshman righty Geoff Sanner.

Dunn allowed two earned runs on seven hits, struck out six and walked two in the first seven innings to pick up his second win in three decisions this spring.

Sanner allowed one earned run, struck out one and walked one in two hitless innings of relief work.

The Rock took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning, thanks to an RBI double by Jovanovich and a run-scoring groundout by Myers, and never looked back.

Jovanovich's two-run triple and Benshadle's RBI single plated three runs in the bottom of the fifth and made it a 5-0 game.

Kengor slapped a two-run triple with no one out in the sixth to push the advantage to 7-0 before Hillsdale scored two runs in the seventh and one in the ninth to set the final score.

The Rock continue their spring-break schedule Tuesday with an 11 a.m. single game vs. winless (0-12) Minnesota-Duluth at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale.
