SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – All 13 players on the Slippery Rock University men's basketball team roster scored points and played at least 11 minutes Sunday as The Rock (7-2) rolled to an easy 122-60 win over visiting Ohio University Eastern (10-3) in Morrow Field House.
Seniors
Gerald Brooks (12 minutes) and
Darious Clark (11 minutes) shared team-high scoring honors with 19 points in substitute roles, while classmate
Devin Taylor led the SRU starters with 18 points as the Green and White recorded their third highest point total in school history.
Brooks also grabbed 10 rebounds to record his first “double-double” of the season, while Taylor snared eight rebounds. Clark buried five 3-point shots in the game.
Two other Rock subs also had double-figure scoring totals. Redshirt freshmen
Jordan Grady (21 minutes) and
Maxx Rynd (15 minutes) finished with 11 points and 10 points, respectively.

Sophomore
Daivon Jackson chipped in eight points and nine rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench and redshirt freshman
Kenny Moore handed out a game-high nine assists in 19 minutes for SRU.
Game-high scoring honors went to Ohio University Eastern's Marquez O'Neill, who finished the game with 22 points and 10 rebounds in a complete-game, 40-minute performance.
The Rock finished the game with a commanding 77-30 rebounding advantage and finished one rebound shy of the school record set in 1956 vs. Alliance College.
SRU's point total Sunday was five points shy of the school record set Nov. 23, 2008 vs. Ohio State-Mansfield and one point shy of the second-best scoring effort, a 123-point performance Dec. 2, 2008, vs. Penn State-Fayette.
Sunday's effort marked the eighth time in five seasons under head coach
Kevin Reynolds that the Green and White scored 100 or more points and the first time since a 113-point effort vs. Ohio University Eastern exactly one year earlier that SRU passed the century mark.
The Rock are now 7-0 all-time against Ohio University Eastern and have scored 100 or more points in four of those games.
SRU scored 68 first-half points Sunday, three shy of the school record of 71 set Jan. 11, 1971 vs. Geneva College and matched Nov. 22, 1991 vs. Lake Erie College.
The hosts enjoyed a 68-34 lead at the intermission and held their largest lead, a 69-point, 114-45 advantage with six minutes left to play.
The Rock established a new school record Sunday with 111 shots from the field, eclipsing the old mark of 99 set vs. Alliance in 1974.
SRU made 50 of their field-goal attempts Sunday to finish with a 46% efficiency. The Rock also made 13 of 35 (37%) shots from beyond the 3-point arc and sank nine of 12 free throws. The hosts turned the ball over 12 times, which led to 10 Ohio University Eastern points.
Ohio University Eastern shot 37% (25-68) from field, made five of 15 long-range shots and sank five of 10 free throws. The Panthers committed 23 turnovers, which The Rock converted into 33 points. The Rock had 14 steals in the game, compared to six for the Panthers.
Other trivial numbers from the game showed The Rock with a 62-30 advantage in scoring “in the paint,” a 48-5 scoring advantage on offensive rebounds and a 73-10 scoring margin in points “off the bench.”
Sunday's game was the final non-conference date on The Rock's 2012-13 schedule. The Green and White open a string of 17 consecutive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contests Friday with a 7:30 p.m. game at Millersville.
The next Rock home game will be Jan. 11 against East Stroudsburg. Tipoff in Morrow Field House is set for 7:30 p.m.
East Stroudsburg and Millersville currently share the top spots in the PSAC-Eastern Division standings with 4-1 conference records. SRU is also 4-1 in conference games and shares the PSAC-Western Division lead with Indiana (Pa.).
