SRU, after blowing Ohio University Eastern out by a 103-63 score in the 2008-09 season opener in Morrow Field House, was unable to run away and hide from the Panthers this year. But the outcome was never really in doubt once Rock got its offense untracked.
Ohio University Eastern scored the first basket of the game, a 3-point shot by Shaw after only 30 seconds had elapsed on the game clock, and held a five-point (14-9) lead after four minutes of action.
Douglas scored five points with a trey and a jumper to key an 8-2 Rock run in the next two minutes, though, to give the hosts a 17-16 lead with 13:45 left in the first half and the Green and White never trailed thereafter.
SRU led by as many as 15 points (45-30 withj 2:55 left) en route to a 14-point, 47-33, halftime lead.

Ohio University Eastern trimmed the margin to 17 (75-58) with 4:30 left before SRU closed out the game with a 13-3 run.

Ohio University Eastern shot 31% (18 of 58) from the field, 33% (5 of 15) from beyond the arc and 69% (20 of 29) from the foul line.
SRU held a commanding 54-32 advantage in rebounds, but was on the wrong end of an 18-16 turnover comparison and an 8-6 steals matchup. The Rock blocked a total of six shots, while the Panthers swatted down only one.
Sunday's game was the first of three straight home games for The Rock, who after they host Bloomsburg will entertain Seton Hill in an 8 p.m. non-conference game Nov. 30.
