EDINBORO, Pa. -- The Rock dropped an 80-62 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division decision Wednesday night at Edinboro and, as a result, fell into fifth place in the division standings.
The significance of that: SRU must finish in the top four in the division to earn its first PSAC playoff berth since 1999-2000.
Wednesday's loss dropped SRU's overall record to 5-17 and its division mark to 3-5, one game behind fourth-place Clarion.
Clarion, which began the night tied with SRU for fourth place, took over sole possession of the spot with a win Wednesday night over visiting Indiana (Pa.)..
Edinboro improved its record to 17-5 overall, 7-1 in PSAC-West action.
The winning effort was paced by Ryan McLemore's "triple double" of 13 points, 12 blocked shots and 11 rebounds. His blocks total set a new PSAC record.

Cory Somerville each grabbed six rebounds.
SRU never led in the game and trailed by 11 points (39-28) at halftime. Edinboro's lead was at least 10 points throughout the final 20 minutes and included a pair of 25-point advantages.
The Rock experienced an icy-cold shooting night all around Wednesday night. SRU made only 37.1% (26 of 70) shots from the field, 42.9% (3 of 7) from the foul line and 46.7% (7 of 15) from the foul line.
Edinboro made 46.9% (30 of 64) of its shots from the field, a frigid 27.8% (5 of 18) from 3-point range and 60% (15 of 25) from the foul line. The Fighting Scots also held a 51-35 rebounding advantage.
