BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- Senior guard Denell Stephens (pictured above) recorded team-high totals of 22 points, 11 rebounds and four steals Saturday afternoon to lead The Rock to its sixth win in as many outings this winter, an 81-69 triumph over hosting Bloomsburg (2-5) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference "crossover" action.

The win gave The Rock its first 6-0 start since 1963 and left this year's Green and White squad only one win shy of last winter's final win total (7-20).

Saturday's win had added significance for first-year Rock head coach Kevin Reynolds as it came against his alma mater. Reynolds is a 1991 BU graduate and a former four-year player for the Huskies.

Stephens' "double-double" effort Saturday was his third of the season and seventh recorded by a Rock player this winter.

Junior guard Michael Evans Jr. added 16 points to the winning effort, while senior point guard Kyle Camper chipped in 14 points and 10 assists.

Camper has now handed out 10 or more assists in all six Rock games this winter.

Sophomore guard Maron Brown grabbed eight rebounds to finish behind Stephens in that category, while sophomore guard Maurice Douglas scored eight points and handed out four assists.

The Rock began its first road of the game with a cold shooting touch and Bloomsburg took advantage of it as the Huskies jumped out to a 14-5 lead and held a 36-29 advantage with just under two minutes left in the first half.

SRU scored the final 10 points of the opening period, though, to take a 39-36 lead into intermission and never looked back.

The Green and White expanded their advantage to 11 points (56-45) after seven and a half minutes of action in the second half and held their largest lead of the game, a 21-point (73-52) lead with five minutes left to play.

The Rock has little time to savor Saturday's win as it will host Penn State Wilkes-Barre in a 7 p.m. game Monday in Morrow Field House.
