Rock rolls past Millersville, 21-5

Slippery Rock, Pa. - The Rock amassed 458 yards in total offense Saturday afternoon en route to a 21-5 win over visiting Millersville in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference interdivisional action on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

Senior quarterback Nate Crookshank completed 15 of 21 passes for 293 yards and three touchdowns to lead The Rock attack. He had one pass intercepted.

Senior wide receiver Paul Favers was on the receiving end of six Crookshank passes for a career-high 169 yards and two TDs. Junior running back Corey Manfull rushed for 150 yards on 25 carries to lead SRU's rushing attack.

The Rock (2-0) had two potential scoring drives stopped by lost fumbles inside the Millersville 5-yard line.

Millersville had 186 yards in total offense.

The Marauders (0-2) scored a safety when a snap from center sailed over Rock punter Kyle Witman's head and into the endzone midway through the second quarter. The other Millersville points came on a 42-yard field goal by John Banzhof in the final minutes of the third quarter.

Favers hauled in a 75-yard TD toss in the second quarter and caught a 22-yard TD in the fourth period. Crookshank also threw a 1-yard TD pass to Ross Hornish.

The Rock travels to Bowie State next week.
