Final Stats
Slippery Rock, Pa. - Matt McNelis kicked a 28-yard field as time expired Saturday night to give visiting Indiana U. of Pa. A 34-31 win over Slippery Rock in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
The game-winning kick capped off a game dominated by the teams' offensive units. IUP outgained The Rock by a 411-408 edge in total yards behind a 310-yard passing effort by redshirt sophomore Andrew Krewatch.
Krewatch completed 27 of 39 passes and threw for three touchdowns and had two passes intercepted. Antony Cellitti caught seven passes for 62 yards, Dan Pickens six passes for 66 yards, Ken Witter six passes for 63 yards and Mychal Skinner three passes for 64 yards.
Witter caught a 16-yard TD pass, Skinner a 50 yard TD toss and Garrett Lestochi a 10 yard TD pass.
Poohbear McNeal led IUP in rushing with 55 yards on 18 carries.
Rock quarterback Nate Crookshank completed 10 of 19 passes for 206 yards and one TD, a 58-yarder to Paul Favers in the first quarter.
SRU rushed for 202 yards as a team, led by Corey Manfull's 99 yards on 18 carries. Manfull also ran for two TDs, one from a yard out and the second from two yards out.
Manfull did not play in the second half after sustaining a shoulder injury.
Ryan Lehmeier ran 37 yards for SRU's final TD, which tied the score at 31-31 with 8:46 left in the game.
IUP held a 21-7 lead at the end of one period before SRU roared back to tie the score at 21-21 at halftime. IUP took a 28-24 lead into the final period of play.
SRU travels to East Stroudsburg for a PSAC "crossover" game next Saturday, while IUP hosts California U. of Pa.
