WEST CHESTER, Pa -- Ken Ottrix scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed a team-best eight rebounds Saturday afternoon to lead a four-player double-digit scoring effort by Rock players in a 79-73 loss to hosting West Chester in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference "crossover" action.

Jamar Scales added 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Darnell Johnson contributed 11 points and six assists and Erroll Robinson chipped in 10 points for SRU (1-3).

The battle of teams predicted to finish last in their respective PSAC divisions was a good one as the largest lead of the game was an 11-point (46-35) margin with 16:30 left to play.

The Rock quickly erased that deficit, though, as it put together a 17-4 run in the next five minutes to knot the score at 52-52 with 11:30 left to play.

An Ottrix layup with 9:45 left gave SRU its first lead of the game, a 56-54 edge.

The score was tied seven times in the next eight minutes, the final time at 68-68 with 1:45 left, before West Chester secured the win with an 11-5 scoring advantage in the 105 seconds.

The Rock will look to bounce back Sunday, when it will travel to Millersville for a 3 p.m. "crossover" game.

Following Sunday's game, The Rock turns its attention to a Thursday night non-conference date with Glenville State in Morrow Field House.

SRU visits Seton Hill for a non-conference game next Saturday before taking a break for the Fall Semester final examination period.
