Stacy Arend joined the Athletic Training staff at Slippery Rock in September of 2013 and was elevated to the role of head athletic trainer in 2021.
Currently, Arend handles the primary athletic training services for The Rock men's soccer team in the fall, men's basketball team in the winter and baseball team in the spring. She is also heavily involved in the administrative side of providing athletic training services to all of Slippery Rock's nearly 500 student-athletes and serves on the senior leadership team in the Athletics Department.
Arend joined the staff at Slippery Rock after serving as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), where she primarily worked with the Division I women's basketball program from 2009-13.
Before her stint in the desert, Arend worked as an associate athletic trainer at Mercer University, where she assisted with all sports and as an assistant athletic trainer at Gardner Webb University, where she worked with volleyball, tennis, women's soccer and women's basketball.
A native of Bridgman, Michigan, Arend earned her undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University and went on to earn a master's degree in public health from Mercer University and a second master's degree in exercise and sports psychology from Lock Haven University.
