Ron Butschle joined the Slippery Rock football staff in the spring of 2025 to serve as running backs coach and took over as special teams coordinator in 2026.
CAREER AT A GLANCE
• Helped coach JayJay Jordan to All-America honors in 2025 after Jordan was named the PSAC West Offensive Player of the Year. SRU rushed for 217.8 yards per game in 2025 during Butschle's first season with the program.
• Butschle came to The Rock with more than 30 years of coaching experience at the high school level, where he spent time coaching at both Sto-Rox High School and Seneca Valley High School in western Pennsylvania.
• Butschle won 101 games combined as a high school head coach and led his teams to 10 WPIAL playoff appearances, including three appearances in the WPIAL championship game.
• Throughout his tenure, Butschle coached five different players that would go on to play in the NFL, including Slippery Rock offensive lineman Brandon Fusco, who was the last SRU football player to be drafted.

• Married to Trisha Butschle.
• Five adult children: Ryan, Jenn, Mathilda, Gabriella, Nate.
