Former Slippery Rock University standout Ricky Mineo concluded his first season as The Rock's pitching coach in 2026.
CAREER AT A GLANCE
• Mineo helped to guide Slippery Rock to a 30-18 overall record and to a fourth place finish in the PSAC West standings (16-12) in 2026.
• Slippery Rock's pitching staff ranked eighth in the nation in strikeouts per nine innings (9.4) and 10th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.35).
• Inside the PSAC, SRU's pitchers ranked first in strikeouts per nine innings, second in strikeout-to-walk-ratio, third in walks allowed per nine innings (4.01), fifth in ERA (4.60) and fifth in WHIP (1.51).
• Starting pitcher Cole Grady and relief pitcher Joey Vanzin earned All-PSAC West honors.

ATHLETIC CAREER
• A local product from Slippery Rock High School, Mineo chose to stay close to home and attend SRU where he would make 27 appearances over a four-year career (2019-22).
• Mineo concluded college career with a 10-5 record in addition to holding a 3.23 ERA and .195 opponent batting average with 156 strikeouts over 108.2 innings.
• A two-time All-PSAC West honoree, Mineo still ranks 11th in SRU history career strikeouts, 14th in ERA.
• Included in the many highlights of his Slippery Rock career, were two combined no-hitters as well as a school-record 17 strikeouts against Davis & Elkins.
• Following his time at SRU Mineo signed a contract with the Minnesota Twins and spent three years in the organization's system.
