Nicole Krueger

Nicole Krueger, a former forward on the Slippery Rock women’s soccer team, joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach in June of 2025.
 
After appearing in 65 games over four seasons and helping The Rock to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances as a player, Krueger embarked on a coaching career that has seen her coach alongside Slippery Rock legend Noreen Herlihy at three different institutions over the last 10 years.

• Helped IUP women’s soccer to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 15 seasons in 2024

• Spent six total seasons as an assistant at Akron, helping the Zips to three MAC Tournament appearances, doubling the amount of postseason trips in program history

CAREER PATH
• Prior to joining the staff at SRU in 2025, Krueger served as an assistant coach at Indiana (Pa.) for three seasons, helping the Crimson Hawks transform their program to become a regional contender. IUP went 11-3-4 in 2024 and made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 15 years.
• Prior to her time at IUP, Krueger served four years as a full-time assistant coach and two years as a graduate assistant at Division I Akron, where she helped the Zips to qualify for three MAC Tournament appearances.
• After graduating from SRU, Krueger spent time working as a personal trainer and a youth soccer coach in various locations, including her hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona.
 
ATHLETIC CAREER
• Played forward at Slippery Rock from 2011-14, appearing in 65 games with 31 starts.
• Scored 13 goals and handed out eight assists for 34 career points, including three game-winning goals.
• Tallied career-highs of six goals and 14 points in 2014 on her way to earning Academic All-America honors.
• Named to the PSAC Fall Top 10 in 2014.
• SRU won at least 11 games in all four years of Krueger’s career and compiled an overall record of 56-21-8 with three trips to the NCAA Tournament, including three appearances in the Round of 16 and one trip to the quarterfinals.
 
PERSONAL
• Native of Scottsdale, Arizona.
• Earned bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Slippery Rock in 2015.
• Also received master’s degree in exercise physiology and adult fitness from Akron in 2018.
