Jordan Kissner joined the SRU Athletic Training staff in August of 2022 and will be working primarily with the women's volleyball and men's and women's cross country teams in the fall and the men's and women's track and field teams in the winter and spring.
Kissner came to Slippery Rock after serving various roles in athletic training at the University of Pittsburgh from 2019-22. She received her master's degree from Pitt in sports medicine in 2021 and served as an intern athletic trainer for the Panthers in 2021-22, working with cheer, dance, men's and women's basketball, men's soccer, softball and men's and women's track and field.
She also worked with youth and prospect camps at Pitt and provided gameday coverage for the Beadling Soccer Club's WPSL team.
In addition to her roles with Pitt Athletics, Kissner also worked at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in sports medicine as an athletic trainer.
Kissner got her undergraduate degree in athletic training from Alvernia University in 2019. She was a member of the NCAA women's golf team at Alvernia and also worked with men's and women's lacrosse, baseball and softball as a student athletic trainer. During her undergraduate education, she also spent one year working with Kutztown University's football, wrestling and women's lacrosse teams, which included providing athletic training services at the PSAC wrestling championships.
She served as president of both the student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) and the athletic training student association at Alvernia. Kissner was honored with the O'Pake Undergraduate Fellowship in Leadership Award in 2019 and was also honored with the Athletics Director Award in 2019 for her outstanding efforts at Alvernia.
