A 2022 SRU graduate with a degree in sport management, Mahon returned to his Alma Mater in the fall of 2023 as a facilities, events and equipment coordinator.
Mahon returned to Slippery Rock after serving as the assistant sport facility manager at All-American+ Field House in Monroeville, Pennsylvania for six months. Prior to that, he spent 18 months at Penn State University, first working as an events and facilities intern at the Pegula Ice Arena before spending the 2022-23 academic year as an operations assistant at Beaver Stadium, home of the nationally recognized Penn State football program.
At Penn State, Mahon assisted in the operations of some of the largest sporting events in the country with Penn State routinely drawing more than 107,000 fans for football games.
During his undergraduate education at Slippery Rock, Mahon also worked as a student assistant in facilities and operations from 2019-21 while pursuing his sport management degree.
Mahon will oversee facilities and event management for SRU field hockey, volleyball, lacrosse and track & field events.
