Danny Stone begins his first season at Slippery Rock as SRU’s graduate assistant of strength and conditioning in 2025.
 
Under the guidance of head strength and conditioning coach Connor Olson, Stone works with the SRU athletic training staff and the coaching staffs of all 17 sports teams to help coordinate the strength and conditioning program for Slippery Rock's more than 400 student-athletes.

• Stone comes to The Rock with prior experience on both the Division I (Robert Morris University) and Division III (Grove City College) collegiate levels as well as having worked in the private sector (Penguins Performance Training).
• A NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
• American Red Cross Adult, Child, and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED

• 2020-22: Hammers Lacrosse (assistant coach)
• 2022 (May-August): Virginia Therapy and Fitness Center (research assistant)

• 2024 (June-August): Penguins Performance Training (strength & conditioning coach)
• 2024-25: Grove City College (strength & conditioning intern / sports science intern)
• 2025: Robert Morris University (strength & conditioning intern)
• 2025-Present: Slippery Rock University (strength & conditioning graduate assistant)
 
ATHLETIC CAREER
• Stone was a five-year member of the Grove City College men’s lacrosse team, starting 53 of his 66 career games played.
• A goalie, Stone concluded his collegiate career holding a 31-20 record while making 600 saves (.547) and in possession of a 10.31 GAA.
• A two-time team captain, Stone earned United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-America honors in 2024 and 2025.
 
PERSONAL
• Native of Chantilly, Virginia.
• Earned bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in nutrition from Grove City.
• Working towards master’s in public health at Slippery Rock.
