Brad Henry enters his sixth season as an assistant on head coach Ian Grady’s staff in 2025-26. No stranger to The Rock, this year will mark his 10th season overall as a member of the SRU men’s basketball coaching staff.

Prior to re-joining the Slippery Rock program, Henry served as an assistant coach for the highly successful Indiana University (Pa.) women’s basketball team for five seasons. 

In addition to his coaching duties for The Rock, Henry also serves as a Labor Relations Specialist/Title IX Investigator at SRU.

CAREER AT A GLANCE
• In Henry’s 13 seasons as an assistant coach, he has never been a part of a program with a losing record as the teams he has helped coached have recorded an overall record of 261-108 (.707) with 11 postseason berths.
• As a member of the Slippery Rock men’s basketball program, Henry has helped coach SRU to a 149-90 (.623) and seven postseason appearances. 
• While a part of the IUP women’s basketball program the Crimson Hawks were 112-18 (.862), making four trips to the NCAA Tournament.

CAREER PATH
• Henry began his career on the sidelines as a student at Slippery Rock starting as one of the team managers in 2009-10 and 2010-11 before rising to the role of head manager for 2011-12 and 2012-13.
• After earning his undergraduate degree from SRU, Henry then assumed the role of graduate assistant for The Rock’s men’s basketball team for two seasons (2013-14, 2014-15). 
• Henry would leave Slippery Rock for Indiana University (Pa.) where he served as the Residence Director in IUP’s Office of Housing, Residential Living and Dining in addition to being an assistant for the Indiana women’s basketball program from 2016-21.
• He returned to Slippery Rock prior to the 2021-22 season to serve as an assistant on Ian Grady’s staff while also assuming his role in SRU’s Human Resources office. 

PERSONAL
• Native of Carnegie, Pennsylvania.
• Currently resides in Robinson Township, Pennsylvania.
• Earned Bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies from Slippery Rock in 2013.
• Also received Master’s degree in Parks and Resource Management from The Rock in 2014 and another in Human Resources and Employment Relations from IUP in 2020.
