Deana Waintraub

Deana Waintraub begins her first season as a graduate assistant with the women’s soccer program.

Waintraub, a native of Richmond Hill in Ontario, Canada, comes to The Rock after earning her undergraduate degree in physical education at the University of Dayton, where she excelled both on the field and in the classroom.

Waintraub, a member of the Canadian National Training Camp, was the starting goalkeeper for the Flyers and was a first team All-Ohio and first team All-Atlantic 10 performer. In 2008, she posted a 13-2-1 overall record, including five shutouts, and finished the year with a 0.88 goals against average.

Waintraub graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the Dean’s List and the Atlantic-10 Commissioners Honor Roll.

Prior to her time at Dayton, Waintraub spent one year at the University of Louisville, where she started in 17 games as a freshman. She posted six shutouts and was once named the Big East Goalkeeper of the Week.

At Slippery Rock, Waintraub will assist with all facets of running the women’s program while working toward her master’s degree in physical education.
