Duncan Williams joined the SRU basketball staff as a volunteer assistant prior to the 2025-26 season while also serving Slippery Rock as a facilities, equipment and events coordinator in the Athletics Department.Â
Williams brings 15 years of coaching experience at the Division II level, including stints at Alderson Broaddus, Notre Dame (Ohio) and Lake Erie.Â

COACHING CAREER AT A GLANCE
• Has coached 25 All-Conference players at the collegiate level.
• Spent one year at Lake Erie as assistant athletic director for operations and facilities while also working as an assistant coach. Helped the Storm to set single-season program records for wins, points, rebounds, steals and assists.Â
• Spent five seasons as an assistant at Notre Dame College (Ohio) prior to his time at Lake Erie. Helped the Falcons to four conference quarterfinal appearances and a pair of wins over NCAA Division I teams. Williams also served as director of golf and as a professor in the sport management department at NDC.Â
• Spent eight seasons at Alderson Broaddus before his stop at Notre Dame. Served as the top assistant under head coach Greg Zimmerman. Helped the Battlers to four conference titles and a pair of runner-up finishes. Williams was also a professor in the physical education department and the general manager of the Rex Pyles Arena at Alderson Broaddus.Â
• Spent two seasons coaching at Hedgesville HIgh School in West Virginia before moving to the college ranks. Helped the freshman, JV and varsity teams to a combined 42-5 record in 2010 and a 56-7 mark in 2011 with a trip to the state semifinals.Â

• Finalist for the West Virginia Player of the Year in high school in both soccer and basketball.Â
• Played soccer at Winthrop University before transferring to Shepherd University to play both basketball and soccer.Â
• Served as captain of the soccer team and as captain of the basketball team at Shepherd.

• Native of Hedgesville, West Virginia.
• Earned Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in psychology from Shepherd University.
• Also received Master’s degree in athletic administration from West Virginia University.
• Resides in Slippery Rock with his wife, Brittany, and their daughter, Vivian.
