Quindell Dean, a 2013 Slippery Rock graduate and former standout linebacker, returned to The Rock in the summer of 2015 as a graduate assistant member of the coaching staff.
He will work with the secondary as the defensive backs coach.
Dean was a two-time All-PSAC performer during his undergraduate career at Slippery Rock, where he helped the team to two PSAC West titles and a trip to the NCAA playoffs as a senior in 2013.
Dean appeared in 44 games during his career at SRU and made 239 total tackles. He recorded 125 solo stops, 32.0 tackles for loss, 9.0 sacks and three interceptions.
His best season was his senior year, when he finished second on the team in total tackles with 76, including 14.5 tackles for loss. He also picked off two passes, broke up six passes and earned All-America honors as senior. That followed a junior year in 2012 that saw him record 79 total tackles and nine pass breakups.
A native of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Dean graduated from The Rock in 2013 with a degree in criminal justice.
