Josh Bermann returns to SRU for his third overall season on the staff. He will work with the tight ends and running backs in 2016, while also serving as the certified strength and conditioning coach for the program.
Bermann helped coach a rushing attack that shattered multiple single-season team records in 2015, led by Shamar Greene’s 1,545 yards, which ranked fourth in the country. SRU rushed for 46 touchdowns and 3,608 yards on the year.
A 2012 graduate of Grove City College, Bermann previously worked one year at Ohio Northern University, where he coached tight ends and running backs in 2014 before returning to The Rock last fall.
Before his time at Ohio Northern, Bermann was a volunteer on the 2013 Rock staff and helped the team to the PSAC West title and a trip to the NCAA playoffs. He also spent time on the Youngstown State coaching staff.
Bermann was an All-Conference selection as an offensive lineman at Grove City, where he served as team captain in 2012. After his career at Grove City he joined the U.S. team at the 2012 Tazon de Estrellas and helped Team Stars and Stripes defeat Mexico 32-15.
