Dominique Battle joins The Rock football staff as a defensive backs coach and will work closely with the cornerbacks.
Battle was inducted into the University of Cincinnati Hall of Fame in 2019 after a stellar playing career for the Bearcats, where he played cornerback and helped Cincinnati to four Big East titles and four bowl game appearances.
Battle helped the Bearcats to Big East titles in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012 and appearances in the 2008 Orange Bowl, 2009 Sugar Bowl, 2011 Liberty Bowl and 2012 Belk Bowl. He was named the Jim Kelly Hold the Rope Award winner for the Cincinnati defense in 2012 and was the Cincinnati Newcomer of the Year Award winner in 2008.
The Florida native comes to The Rock after spending two years as a defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator at Benedictine University in Chicago, where he also assisted student-athletes with their academics.
Prior to joining the staff at Benedictine, Battle spent one season as a cornerbacks coach and equipment manager at Morehead State in Kentucky and a brief stint as a defensive quality control coach at Eastern Kentucky University.
Battle has recruiting experience and connections in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Illinois.
Battle and his wife, Jordan, are the proud parents of two young boys, Xaiden and Kailo.
