Bill Horsman

Bill Horsman will coach The Rock running backs for the 13th straight season in 2011 after coaching the offensive line in 1997.

Horsman has coached two Rock players who have earned All-America honors and 11 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division running backs. Slippery Rock has also produced eight 1,000-yard runners under Horsman.

In 2010, Slippery Rock ranked sixth in the PSAC in rushing.

Prior to joining the SRU staff, Horsman served as head coach at Moniteau High School, where he teaches history.

Horsman started his coaching career as defensive coordinator for three years (1980-82) at Grove City High School, where he also worked with the running backs. He moved on to Grove City College in 1983 for a 10-year stint as an assistant coach.

Horsman graduated from Thiel College in 1980 with a degree in Secondary Education/History. He and his wife, Tina, live in Butler and are the parents of two sons, Christopher and Michael.
