The Slippery Rock women’s soccer team welcomes Clarion for a clash between two of the top three teams in the PSAC West standings 4 p.m. Wednesday at James Egli Field.

SERIES HISTORY
Slippery Rock and Clarion faced off for the first time in 2001, which resulted in a 4-0 Rock victory. The tilt between The Rock and the Golden Eagles has been an annual series since the inaugural match. Slippery Rock owns a 32-1-3 all-time record against Clarion and a 15-0-1 mark at home against the Golden Eagles. SRU's defense has been a staple of this matchup as Clarion has only scored in 15 of the 36 matches in the series.

Last season, Slippery Rock earned two victories over Clarion, 2-1 at James Egli Field as well as 1-0 at Memorial Stadium. Miley Kariotis, Marissa Salisbury and Libby Zacharyasz scored one goal each, while Bailey McGee, Abby Paterline and Lillian Snyder each earned one assist. Leah Allman was in goal for The Rock, earning two wins after making four saves and surrendering only one goal.

LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock secured a Senior Day victory over Pitt-Johnstown in PSAC West action, 2-1, Sept. 12 at James Egli Field.

Jordyn Constable scored her first career goal, and Paterline grabbed the game-winner for Slippery Rock, while McGee and Chloe Flynn both picked up one assist each.

Constable paced both sides with four shots and three shots on goal. McGee, Paterline, Flynn, Sophia Palermo, Peyton Los, and Jilly Deivert all took two shots, while Lindsey Price, Lilia Battalini and Eden Williams rounded out SRU's shot takers with one apiece.

Allman started in goal for The Rock and made one save in 87 minutes of play, while Allie Burkholder played the final three minutes of the win.

Slippery Rock outshot Pitt-Johnstown 19-5, including 11-2 in shots on goal. The Rock also took seven corner kicks compared to Pitt-Johnstown's three.

The Rock's 2026 senior class of Allman, Burkholder, Constable, McGee, Palermo, Price, Irene Doleno and Allie Burns had their contributions to the program recognized in a pregame Senior Day ceremony.

HOME COOKING
Slippery Rock has historically taken advantage of its home field. In the last eight years, Slippery Rock has put together an impressive 46-9-13 (.836) record at home between James Egli Field and Mihalik-Thompson Stadium as well as a 13-0-2 mark in its last 14 games at James Egli Field with a +33 goal differential (40-7).

LEADING THE ROCK
Deivert leads The Rock in points early in the season with six on two goals and two assists in six games played. Battalini and Los are next in line as both have two goals and one assist, followed by McGee and Palermo on four points each. Williams shares the mantel as The Rock's current assist leader with Deivert as the sophomore has two assists.

Paterline, Flynn, McGee, Addison Bell and Summer Hill join Deivert with one goal, while Price, Constable and Libby Earley and each have one assist.

Deivert lead the charge with 12 shots, followed by Battalini with 11. Palermo rounds out The Rock's top three shot-takers with 10 shots.

Snyder and Madisyn Sedor, crucial parts of Slippery Rock's backline, leads all Rock field players with 403 and 399 minutes played respectively (67.2 mpg & 66.5 mpg).

IN GOAL FOR THE ROCK
Allman leads Slippery Rock in all goalkeeper statistics after starting all six games. Allman has 0.92 goals against average with a .762 save percentage.

Rosie Willmott Joyce has appeared in two games and made one save in 48 minutes of play.

Just six games into the 2026 season, Slippery Rock, as a team and individually, ranks near the top of numerous leaderboards throughout the PSAC ranks.

YOUTH SHINING BRIGHT
Last time out against Pitt-Johnstown, Slippery Rock' starting lineup featured five underclassmen, which included three freshmen. The Rock also played 10 underclassmen off the bench, as 60 percent of Slippery Rock's players against Pitt-Johnstown were either freshmen or sophomores. SRU also seen production from its youth as 27 of The Rock's 47 points have come via freshmen and sophomores.

SURGING UP THE RECORD BOOK
Allman is approaching numerous records among Slippery Rock goalkeepers. The senior currently sits inside the top five in four different categories (goalie games started, saves, wins and shutouts). Allman is currently tied with Dana O'Neil (2009-13) for second place and just three starts from surpassing Emma Yoder for the top spot with 64 starts.

Allman is also just five saves, two wins, and 4.5 shutouts away from moving into third place in the respective categories.

CLARION SCOUTING REPORT
The Golden Eagles enter the matchup with The Rock holding a 3-1-2 record overall, just one win shy of its 2025 win total after six games played. Clarion began its season with three straight victories against Ursuline College, California (Pa.) and an upset over No. 14 Gannon University. In its last three games, Clarion has drawn Seton Hill and Indiana University (Pa.) with a loss to Lock Haven in the middle.

Senior forward Ciara DiMauro leads the Golden Eagles in all offensive categories with eight points on three goals and two assists. Leah Deal joins DiMauro with three goals and Paige Brewer matches the forward's two assists.

Sage Sherk has played every minute in goal for Clarion, earning a 1.17 GAA and a .800 save percentage with 28 saves in 540 minutes played.

Slippery Rock hits the road for just its third game away from James Egli Field this season as The Rock matches up against Seton Hill University noon Saturday at Dicks Sporting Goods Field.
