MASSUCCI AND SHEELY NAMED TO NFCA DII PLAYER OF THE YEAR WATCHLIST
Outfielders
Alyssa Massucci and
Alyssa Sheely have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Player of the Year watchlist, the organization announced Wednesday.
118 players from across the country were named as part of the 2026 NFCA Division II Player and Pitcher of the Year watchlist. The list is broken down into the eight NCAA Regions with up to 15 student-athletes represented in each region. The list is compiled by the elected members of the NFCA Division II All-American Committee with one head coach representing each of the eight NCAA regions.
Massucci and Sheely are two of three Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division players to make the 2026 watchlist. Additionally, the duo are two of six players from the conference as a whole to be named to the watchlist. SRU was the only team in the Atlantic Region to have two position players nominated for the award.

BAKER NAMED PSAC WEST PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Freshman
Rachel Baker was named the PSAC West Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced Monday.
Baker is the sixth Rock athlete to earn Pitcher of the Week twice in the same season and the first since Kelsi Anderson in 2022.
Monday's honor marks the fifth PSAC weekly award for Slippery Rock this season, the second-most weekly awards for The Rock in a single season. Slippery Rock was awarded seven weekly awards during the 2018 campaign.
Baker finished the week with a 2-1 record after earning a 2.10 ERA in 20 innings and striking out 16 batters.
In her two victories, Baker pitched seven innings in both matchups. In a 5-0 win over Edinboro, Baker pitched a complete game shutout, giving up just two hits and two walks with four strikeouts. During a 3-2 triumph over California (Pa.), Baker surrendered two runs on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts.
USING THE LONG BALL
Slippery Rock used the home run to its advantage in its 4-2 clip last week. In the six games, SRU hit three home runs, all of which were solo shots.
Aubrey Mansfield and
Addie Warzala each hit a home run against the Griffins, while Massucci left the yard at California.
RACKING UP STRIKEOUTS
Baker's 63 strikeouts on the season paces The Rock and slots her eighth in all the PSAC in punchouts. In her last outing, Baker struck out eight California batters en route to earning the win in seven innings of work.
