GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University softball team lost two one-run games, 4-3 and 5-4, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division competition Friday at Seton Hill University.
With the two losses, Slippery Rock fell to 10-10 on the season with a 4-2 mark in the PSAC West, while Seton Hill's record improved to 13-13 overall and 4-2 in the PSAC West.
Slippery Rock was led by
Alyssa Sheely, as the senior finished the day 4-for-8 with two RBIs.

Slippery Rock opened the scoring in the third inning.
Maddie Cavenaugh started the inning with a leadoff-double and later scored on a throwing error off a Sheely ground ball with two outs.
The Rock added to their lead in the fourth inning with two more runs. SRU led off the frame with back-to-back doubles as
Grace Smith drove in
Alyssa Massucci. Smith then scored on
Jordyn Pelles' RBI-single for another two-out run for Slippery Rock, giving it a 3-0 lead.
The Griffins then scored four runs in the fourth inning to complete the comeback-victory, 4-3.
Offensively, Massucci and Smith each went 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Smith added one RBI. Sheely also had two hits with a 2-for-4 finish with one RBI.
Cavenaugh and Pelles each had one hit with Cavenaugh hitting 1-for-4 with one run and Pelles finishing 1-for-3 with one RBI.
In the circle,
Rachel Baker took the loss after pitching all six innings. Baker finished giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks, while striking out four batters.
Shelby Telegdy earned the win after surrendering three runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts in seven innings.

Slippery Rock once again opened the scoring, this time in the first inning. Cavenaugh led off the game with a walk followed by an
Addie Deal single.
Aubrey Mansfield reached on an error, loading the bases. Sheely knocked in Cavenaugh with an RBI-single, before Massucci scored Deal on a sacrafice fly.
The Griffins evened the game, 2-2, with a pair of runs in the third inning.
The Rock responded the next half inning with a Mansfield solo home run to put SRU back in front.
Addie Warzala made Slippery Rock's lead 4-2 with her first career home run of her own in the fourth inning.
However, Seton Hill found three runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning for the 5-4 walk-off victory.
At the plate, Sheely, Mansfield, Deal and Warzala ended the game with two hits. Deal, Mansfield and Sheely all went 2-for-4. Mansfield finished with one run and one RBI, while Deal had one run and Sheely earned one RBI. After game one, Mansfield had a 10-game on-base streak come to an end, but started a new one with her first home run of 2026.
Jessica Goldhardt reached base once with a 1-for-3 performance. Cavenaugh pushed her on-base streak to 10 games with her three walks in game two.
In the circle,
Paige Gresgott went six innings and gave up two runs on three hits and three walks with two strikeouts in the no-decision.
Kayla Williams took the loss for SRU after giving up three runs on three hits and one walk in 0.2 innings.
Brihana McCombs earned the win after striking out one batter in 0.2 innings in relief of Lacey Lynn, who gave up four runs (three earned) on nine hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 6.1 innings.
Slippery Rock looks to bounce back Saturday in a doubleheader 1 p.m. at Lilley Field against California (Pa.).
