SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –
Slippery Rock University baseball standout Gage Gillott earned a pair of All-Atlantic Region honors recently from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Gillott was named to both teams as a utility pitcher. He was a first team honoree by the D2CCA and a second team selection by the NCBWA.

The recent honors complete the first two legs of Gillott's bid to become Slippery Rock baseball's seventh student-athlete to be a consensus all-region choice multiple times with only the American Baseball Coaches Association left to announce its postseason awards.

If successful, Gillott would place his name among the program's elite alums in past multi-time consensus all-region selections Phil Butch (2006, 2007), Matt Adams (2007, 2008, 2009), Will Kengor (2013, 2014), Tyler Walters (2017, 2018), Joe Campagna (2018, 2019) and Connor Hamilton (2021, 2022).

Prior to this year's all-region selections Gillott was named a first team Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division performer, occupying the utility spot in the league's award as well.

The 2025 season saw Gillott split his time at the plate between hitting from the leadoff and cleanup spots in The Rock's batting order while playing left field. In 41 starts, Gillott hit .349 with a .439 on-base percentage and a .503 slugging percentage while scoring 29 runs with four home runs, 25 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.

On the mound, Gillott pitched 37 innings across eight starts on the way to going 4-3 with a 3.16 ERA, 28 strikeouts and a .201 opponent batting average. He held the opposition to two runs or less in seven of his eight starts.

Gillott led The Rock in batting average, on-base percentage, hits (52), multi-hit games (18) and total bases (75).

The Connellsville, Pennsylvania native has racked up a plethora of awards in his two years at The Rock. Inside the PSAC, Gillott has garnered three all-conference accolades in addition to being named the 2024 PSAC West Pitcher of the Year. On a national level, Gillott was a third team All-America selection by the D2CCA as a junior.

Slippery Rock recently completed its 2025 season with a 31-19 overall record. The Rock qualified for the PSAC Tournament for a third consecutive year after going 16-12 in the PSAC West. The 31 wins secured the 20th 30-win campaign under head coach Jeff Messer and represented the second highest victory total by the program over the last 16 years.
