SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Nicole Kempton, Georgie Lancaster, Dari Sakhanova and Tina Slovak represented the Slippery Rock University women's tennis team on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

In order to be eligible to earn CSC Academic All-District recognition, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and own a cumulative grade point average above 3.50 while having significant athletic credentials. Additionally, athletes must have been in the lineup for 70 percent of their team's total matches.

Nomination limits per institution are in place for each sport in which the CSC sponsors an academic all-district team. In the sport of tennis, each school can nominate a maximum of four student-athletes.

Tuesday's announcement marks the second season in which Sakhanova and Slovak has been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team while Kempton and Lancaster are making their first appearances on the list in their initial years of eligibility.

Kempton, a sophomore public health major, has maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA over her first two collegiate seasons. Not just a standout in the classroom, Kempton also holds a 19-9 singles record all the while partnering with freshman Alissia Kivi to make up The Rock's top doubles team which is ranked 38th in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association with a 26-6 record.

A junior majoring in sport management, Sakhanova carries a 3.92 GPA. The newest member of The Rock's exclusive 100-win club, Sakhanova has put together another quality season for SRU with a 20-10 singles record as The Rock's typical fourth-flight entry while teaming with Lancaster to form Slippery Rock's No. 3 doubles pairing which have compiled a 10-8 mark so far in 2025.

In addition to teaming with Sakhanova in doubles competition, Lancaster also plays out of SRU's sixth singles flight where she has put together a 13-12 record as a senior. In the classroom, Lancaster is a health & physical education major with a 3.52 GPA.

Rounding out The Rock's honorees is Slovak, who holds a 3.73 GPA as an exercise science major to go with 13-9 singles record playing primarily out of the fourth flight and forming an outstanding No. 2 doubles team with Amaia Balaguer Brau which is a near flawless 18-4 on the year.

The quartet has helped to lead Slippery Rock to a 14-9 team record in 2025. SRU advanced to the finals of the PSAC Tournament for a fourth consecutive year before earning an NCAA Tournament bid where The Rock has won their first-round contest to advance to the second round for a fourth consecutive season.

Sakhanova was among a select group of all-district selections, which was determined by a CSC sub-committee, that will now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The CSC Academic All-America Team will be announced June 3.
