SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 shutout victory against Lock Haven University Friday at the Central PA - Tennis Center in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Slippery Rock has now won five of its last seven matches to improve to 8-8 on the season overall and 3-1 inside the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division. Lock Haven ends the day at 2-7 overall and 0-2 in PSAC West competition.

The Rock earned their fifth shutout of 2025 with a clean doubles sweep followed by six consecutive 6-0, 6-0 singles wins.

Amaia Balaguer Brau and
Tina Slovak opened the day by posting their fourth consecutive victory to improve to 12-3 on the season as a team with a 6-0 triumph against Alaina Marchioni and Mary Kathryn Hillman from the second flight.

Georgie Lancaster and
Dari Sakhanova then solidified the doubles point by way of a 6-0 win over Maggie Blasetti and Breanna Chicas out of the third flight.

While it did not influence the overall team score,
Nicole Kempton and
Alissia Kivi – the 45th-ranked doubles team in the nation – downed Megan Ferris and Maci Rohrbach, 6-1. Kempton and Kivi are an impressive 21-6 in their first year as a partnership.

Balaguer Brau, the reigning PSAC West Athlete of the Week and No. 29 singles athlete in Division II, started the singles portion of the match by beating Ferris in the top flight. Balaguer Brau is currently on a seven-match winning streak which has vaulted her record to 20-8.

The back half of The Rock's singles lineup accounted for the following three points to clinch the team victory as Lancaster bettered Hope Lapinski in the sixth flight while Sakhanova edged Chicas from the fifth flight before Slovak won in the fourth slot against Marchioni.

Lancaster and Sakhanova have both won back-to-back matches. Slovak meanwhile evened her record to 9-9 this year with her latest win.

The match ended with wins from the second and third flights, respectively, by Kivi against Hillman and Kempton over Rohrbach. Kivi, SRU's freshman sensation, is now 17-7 as a rookie while Kempton has won her last five singles bouts.

Slippery Rock caps off its three-match week with another road tilt 12 p.m. Sunday at West Chester University.
