SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The No. 25 Slippery Rock University women's soccer team clinched its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division title since 2019, with a 3-1 win Wednesday against Seton Hill University at James Egli Field.
With the win, Slippery Rock improves to 12-3-1 overall with a 12-1-1 record in the PSAC West, while Seton Hill closes its season with a 3-12-2 overall record and a 1-11-2 record in the PSAC West.
This year's PSAC West title was Slippery Rock's fifth regular season championship in program history.
As the top team out of the Western Division, Slippery Rock has clinched a home game in the quarterfinal round of the PSAC Tournament against a yet to be determined opponent from the PSAC East.
Earlier today, Slippery Rock was ranked third in the first ranked version of the NCAA's regional rankings. The NCAA's regional rankings are the only official ranking used by the Division II Women's Soccer Committee's to determine which teams from each of the eight regions will qualify for the 56-team NCAA Division II playoffs. There will be one more version of regional rankings Nov. 12 before the final selections are revealed Nov. 17.
With the result, Slippery Rock is unbeaten in nine consecutive games, extending the program's longest unbeaten streak over the last five years. The nine-game run matches the fifth longest unbeaten streak in program history.
Abby Paterline,
Libby Zacharyasz and
Lindsey Price scored one goal each for SRU Wednesday. Paterline's goal was her sixth of the season, while Zacharyasz and Price both picked up their fourth goals of the campaign.

Marissa Salisbury,
Sophia Palermo and
Libby Earley all picked up one assist in the win. Palermo's assist was her team-leading eighth of the season, while Salisbury picked up her fifth helper of 2025. Paterline's assist was her fourth on the year, while Earley's helper was the first of her career.
Leah Allman picked up the win in goal for The Rock.
Looking to play spoiler to SRU, Seton Hill opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a strike from Kilee Coatney off a pass from Binta Sow.
After multiple Slippery Rock scoring chances, Paterline found an equalizer in the 30
th minute. Palermo played the ball out left for Salisbury, who sent in a cross that Paterline was able to head past the Seton Hill goalkeeper Jordan Spozarski, tying the game 1-1.
Slippery Rock kept up the pressure and gave itself a lead before halftime.
In the 33
rd minute, Paterline sprung Zacharyasz down the right wing, before the senior midfielder took a long-range shot from outside the 18-yard box that found the top-right corner, giving Slippery Rock a 2-1 lead.
Slippery Rock took a 14-3 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in shots on goal into the halftime break.
The Rock extended their lead in 67
th minute. Earley took the ball down the right wing and sent a cross into the box. In a foot race, Price beat Spozarski and a Seton Hill defender to put in the shot, giving Slippery Rock a 3-1 lead it wouldn't relinquish.
Slippery Rock would not allowed a Seton Hill shot in the final 68 minutes of the match.
Slippery Rock finished the match with a 22-3 advantage in shots and a 11-1 edge in shots on goal.
Slippery Rock will learn its opponent for the quarterfinal's, following Saturday's PSAC Tournament opening-round. The Rock and its yet to be determined opponent will meet 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at James Egli Field.
