LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's cross country team took third at the LHU Invitational Saturday in a stellar field that included three of the top four ranked teams in the Atlantic Region.

The Rock finished second among the Atlantic Region teams in the race, moving up one spot from their regional rank entering the meet. Regional No. 1 Charleston won the meet with 60 points. Walsh took second with 66 points and Slippery Rock was third with 95 points, topping Davis & Elkins by one point as the Senators finished with 96 points. D&E entered the meet ranked one spot ahead of SRU in the latest regional rankings. Mount Union rounded out the top five with 152 points.

A total of 35 teams recorded a score in the "Crimson" race Saturday, which included the top eight runners from each school. A total of 200 individual runners completed the 8,000-meter course.

Slippery Rock had four men run 24:40 or faster and place inside the top 20 overall places.
Â
Troy Hart led the way in eighth place in 24:20, finishing one spot ahead of
Joseph Cintavey, who was ninth in 24:25.

Ethan Brentham was 13th in 24:36 and
Devon Navaroli finished 20th in 24:40. The final scorer Saturday was
Tucker Davis, who was 47th in 25:24.

John Juszynski was 75th in 25:47,
Michael Novak was 90th in 26:05 and
Dylan Ribelin was 117th in 26:30.

In the "White" race later in the day, SRU was paced by
Ryan Czechowski in 29th place in 26:47.
Brady Hoffman was 32nd in 26:59 and
Ryan Corbitt was 35th in 27:03.

Slippery Rock will rest next weekend before returning to action at home Oct. 7 with the Bill Lennox Invitational at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.
