WHEELING, W. Va. – The Slippery Rock University volleyball team closed out the Atlantic Region Crossover by splitting a pair of matches Friday on the campus of Wheeling University.
Â
SRU opened the day with a three-set (25-20, 25-15, 25-17) loss to host Wheeling, but rebounded to finish the crossover on a high note courtesy of a three-set (26-24, 25-21, 25-18) win of its own over Fairmont State University.
Â
With the opening three weeks of the regular season now completed, Slippery Rock will take an 8-4 record into its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division opener Tuesday against Gannon University. Wheeling improved to 5-4 with its win over The Rock while Fairmont State dropped to 6-7.
