AN EARLY PSAC TOURNAMENT PICTURE
Slippery Rock enters the final portion of the regular season schedule second in the Western Division standings, just 1.5 games behind Seton Hill University (15-5). Following The Rock (14-7) are Gannon University (12-8), Mercyhurst (11-9) and Indiana (11-9).

Rounding out the final four spots in the West are California (10-9), Clarion (7-13), Pitt-Johnstown (6-16) and Edinboro (5-15).

The top five teams from both the PSAC East and West at the end of the regular season will earn a spot in the PSAC Tournament. A tournament berth this year would mark SRU's first trip to the postseason since 2016.

ROAD WARRIORS
Slippery Rock continues to showcase its strength in contests that it must travel to its opponent as it is 11-4 this year. The road game record marks the first time in program history in which SRU has tallied more than 10 wins in true away games.

On the road SRU averages 4.4 runs per game while holding its competition to 3.6 in addition to having five away contests this year where it has surrendered no more than one run.

SINGLE-SEASON RECORD CHECK
Entering Wednesday's doubleheader Kelsi Anderson, Arielle Brown and Alexsa Hurd are on the cusp of breaking a single-season record each.

Brown is currently five runs away from breaking the single-season runs record while Hurd is only two RBI from becoming the single-season leader in RBI. Anderson is just seven strikeouts away from passing her own single season record from a season ago.

Additionally, Brown is second in walks (23) and tied for seventh in stolen bases with (18) while Hurd is tied for second in doubles (13), sixth in total bases (88) and tied for sixth in hits (54).

THAT WINNING FEELING
With 11 contests remaining in the regular season, The Rock are just five wins away from producing the program's highest win total with the previous best being the 2008 season when it was 27-17. Its 23 wins this year are already the most since a 24-19 finish in 2018.

DYNAMIC DUO
The sophomore duo of Hurd and Brown continue to pace the Slippery Rock offense as leaders in at least one category with both having started all 39 games this year.

Hurd bats a team-best .422 in addition to having team-highs in RBI with 44, home runs with seven and doubles with 13 to go along with 24 runs scored.

Brown leads the roster in runs with 36, walks with 23 and stolen bases with 18 while rounding out her stat line batting .293 with 14 RBI, one home run and eight doubles.

The duo has also been experts at reaching base as they pace the team with respective .472 and .439 on base percentages.

Additionally, the pair have come up big when Slippery Rock needs it most as Hurd bats .580 and Brown .414 with runners in scoring position.

ROCK UPPERCLASSMEN
Cami Fisk, a fellow starter of 39 games and a redshirt senior, enters the week hitting .258 with 11 runs, two home runs, 21 RBI and eight doubles to aid the offense.

Anna Villies, a redshirt junior, has been hot as of late as she now bats the team's second highest average of .329 in addition to tallying nine runs, four RBI and two doubles. Villies had a career day last week as she was 4-for-4 with one run and two RBI against Clarion.

Gardner, another of SRU's seniors, assists from the batter's box with an average of .240 to go along with 17 runs, seven RBI and a pair of doubles.

CIRCLE SQUAD

One of the most talented two-way athletes in the PSAC, Hurd (8-2, 2.68 ERA) in 73 innings pitched has opponents hitting a rotation-low .191. Hurd has struck out 87 batters this season and has pitched five complete games.

Chloe Sharman (1-3, 4 saves, 4.29 ERA) has pitched 32.2 innings as SRU's trusted relief in the circle and has registered 13 strikeouts.
