SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University men's basketball team returned to form with a 76-63 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division victory against Edinboro Wednesday at Morrow Field House.

With the win, Slippery Rock snaps a two-game losing streak and improves its record to 12-4 overall and 6-4 in the PSAC while Edinboro drops to 4-11 overall and 2-7 in conference competition with the loss.

The victory marked Slippery Rock's 13th consecutive win at Morrow Field House. The streak, which started with three wins at the end of last year and has continued with 10 home victories this season, is the third longest active home winning streak across the entire PSAC behind only Indiana University (Pa.) (23) and Mercyhurst University (14).

The Rock and Fighting Scots traded runs throughout the first half with SRU eventually taking a narrow one-point lead at 28-27 heading into the halftime break before pulling away in the final 20 minutes courtesy of one of their patented great second halves.

With SRU leading 56-50 and 8:18 remaining in regulation, Slippery Rock put the game away via an 11-3 run that pushed its lead to a comfortable 14 points on the way to the sixth double-digit Rock win of the 2022-23 season. The Rock shot 60 percent (18-of-30) from the field in the second half.

Slippery Rock placed four players in double figures Wednesday led by
Amante Britt's game-high 17 points. Britt also dished out three assists in the win to move into fifth place in program history for assists in a career with 303. He now needs just three more assists to surpass Kyle Camper (2008-09) for fourth place on The Rock's career ledger.

Khalid Gates recorded his third double-double of the season as part of a 14-point, 11-rebound, four-assist performance that featured three powerful dunks which set the tone for an aggressive SRU team that attacked the rim for the majority of the contest.

Jonathan McFall posted 13 points, three assists and three steals while
Jomo Goings produced his fourth double-digit scoring effort in the last five games with 12 points and four rebounds.

Lashon Lindsey and
Ahmad Galimore blocked two shots apiece with Galimore also securing five rebounds.
Bobby Clifford matched Galimore with five rebounds as well as four points while
Alex Griggs (6 points) and
Nik Cazacu (4 points, 4 rebounds) rounded out The Rock's leaders.

Slippery Rock ended the night shooting 49.1 percent (28-of-57) from the field overall, 25 percent (4-of-16) from 3-point range and 80 percent (16-of-20) at the foul line. SRU also enjoyed a +5 (38-33) rebounding margin over the Fighting Scots while scoring 18 points off 14 Edinboro turnovers.

Edinboro was held to an overall shooting night of 39.7 percent (22-of-58) to go with a 19 percent (4-of-21) mark from 3-point range while converting 65 percent (13-of-20) of its free throws. Kierell Green just missed out on a double-double for the Fighting Scots with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Slippery Rock returns to competition 1 p.m. Saturday on the road at Pitt-Johnstown.
